GEO WATERCOLOR MATCHSTICKS
INSPIRED BY THE GOLD LINE WORK IN GUSTAV KLIMT’S PAINTINGS, I USED ALCOHOL INKS AND AN OIL-BASED PERMANENT GOLD MARKER TO CREATE THESE GEOMETRIC DESIGNS. After they were painted and decorated, I cut them into long strips to create skinny matchstick charms. They work beautifully as earrings.
TOOLS AND MATERIALS
→ Opaque shrink plastic
→ Thin latex gloves or pumice soap and scrubbing sponge
→ 2 colors of alcohol inks (I used yellow and dark teal.)
→ Paintbrush
→ Paper toweling
→ Permanent oil-based marker (I used a gold Sharpie.)
→ Ruler
→ Pencil
→ Scissors
→ Large hole punch (1/4″ [6 mm])
→ Brown paper bag
→ Baking sheet
→ Oven mitt
